Moon Landing Week

I am a child of the space age.

I remember as a boy of 6 years watching the space launches; moon landing and walks; and the final splashdowns. For years after I built and flew rockets as a hobby. I still build them today and I look forward to going out with my kids and launching them on a clear and windless day (good luck with that in the great St. John's area).

On this one thing only I agree with George Bush - our place is out there.

Here's a few more images from this NASA library. Just to provide some sense of scale: the Saturn V you see here was roughly 365 feet tall, a little more than 3 times the height of the Confederation Building in St. John's.
